Lots of ports 4 HDMI 1x US B 3 and 2x USB 2, 1x Headphone, Component & AV, Fibre digital out ports "USTP Ethernet & WIFI but it seems not at the same time?" Also has a special port that looks like a Compact flash port but is called Common Interface - to access encrypted television broadcasts! May have other uses. And one other port labeled Service which looks like a headphone port and is right next to it!
Back of screen manual controls so if you loose the remote your not completely stuffed.
Con's
Lipsync errors on some live to air broadcast (lips don't match what the person is saying - audio and vision don't match) Only noticed this twice so it could have been the TV stations
No sleep mode. You have to reset the timer every occasion. Pointless!
Viewing angle small. The greater the angle the worse the contrast and clarity get.
Extremely slow EPG
~4 secs to complete channel change... Seems even longer
It doesn't seem to "cache" the EPG information so it goes off and updates it every time you change channels
When using the EPG quick menu option again it doesn't get all the stations EPG info until you "click on it" just poor program design I'm guessing
Using a USB stick there is no way I have found to delete the contents or format it.
Had trouble getting it to play back what it had recorded with an error msg saying it didn't support the file format! Now that's really dumb.
Remote control button layout designed could have been improved, the number keys are small and not isolated for easier selection or large fingers.
Won't retain manually entered IP address. This is annoying as I wanted to test if it can handle DLNA streaming.
Unable to have wifi and LAN working at same time it seems.
Unable to get DLNA functioning. Requested Hisense help via email they replied promptly requesting I ring them. A simple email reply with instructions would have done. Time to ring has been a problem.
The square selector in the middle of the remote doesn't do channel change or volume but pvr/time shift and epg info. Again poorly thought out. However when you are using the "Smart TV" "Internet" section it works well and is intuitive in most cases.
While it supposed to use an android derivative it doesn't recognise google play store. Perhaps this is normal for Smart TV's?
I put in a wireless keyboard but unfortunately it only gets recognised in the chrome browser not in youtube keyboard function. You have to use the remote and slide around each letter that is displayed on the screen.
@$795 it seemed like a bargain and it is a great price but the viewing angle the dumb remote layout and the out of lip sync is a disappointment.
I am still wondering where the so called 4core processor is hiding and when it actually gets used. I say this because of the slow response from the remote when watching Live to air TV. 4 seconds to change a channel is ridiculous.
I have to mention audio, I found the TV to do a good job it is just lacking Bass.
Because of the price and the fact that it is a 4K TV I have to give it 4 stars. Picture quality is nowhere near as fantastic as the LG OLED but then neither is the price.
If you sit directly in front of the TV you will be very happy with the picture. If you sit to the sides you might be disappointed.
If you like a fast response from your remote when changing channels this TV could be frustrating. It is very responsive when doing youtube/internet stuff.
I will update this over time as I resolve some of the issues.
